What is a neuromodulator?

A neuromodulator is a substance generated by a bacterium. For it to be utilized as a medication, it must be isolated, purified, and stabilized under sterile conditions. It is provided as a dried powder, commonly referred to as B-T-X, typically in a vacuum-sealed sterile vial that necessitates mixing with normal saline prior to injection.

What is the mechanism of action of B-T-X?

It inhibits nerve impulses to the muscles that control facial movements such as frowning, squinting, and smiling. Consequently, it smooths out dynamic wrinkles on the face, resulting in a more youthful appearance.

Which areas of the face can B-T-X rejuvenate?

1) Forehead wrinkles.

2) The area between the eyebrows (Glabella), commonly known as the eleven lines.

3) Wrinkles around the eyes, referred to as crow’s feet.

4) Wrinkles over the nose, known as bunny lines.

5) Correction of a gummy smile.

6) Correction of a sad smile by injecting into the DAO (Depressor Anguli Oris) muscle.

What should I anticipate during my visit to a cosmetic clinic for a B-T-X injection?

Your experience in our clinic begins with completing a medical history form, followed by a consultation where our doctor will meet with you to discuss your medical history. Be prepared to answer questions regarding any allergies, underlying conditions, skin issues, neurological diseases, and a review of your medications. If you qualify for B-T-X treatment, the advantages and potential side effects of the injection will be explained to you, and any inquiries you may have will be addressed. Subsequently, you will be required to sign a consent form. The next step involves taking photographs of your face from various angles to establish a baseline, followed by cleansing your face with a specialized sterilizing solution to mitigate the risk of infection. To anesthetize the area prior to the injection, you may receive topical anesthetics in the form of a numbing cream. Ultimately, our physician administers specific doses of B-t-x at strategic locations within your facial muscles. While B-t-x injections are generally not painful, you may experience a pinching sensation at the injection sites.

What are the side effects following a B-t-x injection?

Common side effects include swelling, bruising, and mild tenderness.

When can I expect to see the results of a B-t-x injection? Results from your injection can typically be observed between 3 to 7 days post-treatment. You will need to return for a touch-up treatment two weeks after the initial procedure. The anti-wrinkle effects of B-t-x generally last between 3 to 6 months for most brands available in the market.

What other aesthetic issues can B-t-x address?

1) Reduction of excessive sweating in the armpits, hands, and feet.

2) Softening of vertical neck bands.

By selecting a qualified and experienced physician, you can ensure a safe and convenient procedure with no downtime, resulting in a naturally rejuvenated appearance of your face.
